Introduction

mixed martial arts event produced by the Ultimate Fighting Championship that is expected to take place on February 13, 2021, at a location to be announced.

UFC 258: The Main Event

In UFC 258, the main event will be a rematch between current UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman and former champion Gilbert Burns. The two fighters first met in 2015, with Usman winning by decision.

This will be Usman’s first title defense since he won the welterweight title in 2019. He is currently on a 16-fight win streak, with his last loss coming in 2013. Burns, on the other hand, is coming off of a loss to Usman’s teammate Jorge Masvidal in July 2020. He had won eight fights in a row prior to that loss.

UFC 258 will take place on Saturday, February 13 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. The main card will begin at 10 pm ET and will be available on ESPN+.

UFC 258: The Co-Main Event

UFC 258 is shaping up to be a historic event, and it all starts with the co-main event. In the welterweight division, two of the most accomplished fighters in UFC history will battle for the title. Current champion Kamaru Usman will put his belt on the line against former champion Georges St-Pierre.

This will be a rematch of their first meeting at UFC 217, where St-Pierre won the title from Usman’s predecessor, Tyron Woodley. In that fight, St-Pierre exhibited his renowned takedown skills, bringing Woodley to the ground and control much of the bout. However, Usman is a different fighter than Woodley. He is more aggressive and has improved significantly since their first meeting.

In the main event of UFC 258, returning champion Amanda Nunes will attempt to defend her bantamweight title against Australia’s Megan Anderson. This will be Nunes’ first title defense since winning the belt from Cris Cyborg at UFC 232 in December 2018. Nunes is widely considered to be one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in MMA today, and she will have her hands full with the 6’0″ Anderson.

The action kicks off at 10 PM ET on ESPN+ pay-per-view.
